Our Design Process

One question we get asked all the time is how our design process works. This post should give clients a quick glance into our design process so they know what they are getting into before they even call us!

Here at Picture This, one thing we really pride ourselves on is the quality we provide. As one of only two 3M certified shops in Louisiana, we go out of our way to prove to our customers that we really are the best! We believe that your design is almost more important than the quality of the install. After all, a bad design with the best install in the world, still will be a bad design. Because of this we have some steps we like to go through to make sure your design is what you want. That being said, we never want to just be “yes men” If we feel a design element is overshadowing something far more important, we will make sure that we speak up!
Now to what you came here for, the steps in our design process!

  1. Art Meeting
We like to have a meeting with our clients, either over the phone or better yet- in person! This allows us to get a feel for the company in all aspects, your culture, the type of clientele, the main focus, and so much more. We can also show you other wrap designs we have done in the past to find out if you like more of the traditional advertising methods or if you want us to jazz it up!
  2. First Mock-up
Our designer will then provide you with your first mock-up. From here, you tell us what you like and don’t like about the design. Did you want your logo bigger? Did you want your phone number in a different area? We can do that! Our designer will take your notes and create a new mock-up for you. But, here we need to circle back to the not being a “Yes Man” comment mentioned earlier. As an experienced wrap company, we know what elements will get your phone ringing and which will just distract clients. We want you to get the design you want, but we also want it to bring a return on your investment! Ultimately, you make the decision, we will just offer guidance.
  3. Revisions and Approval
You will receive revisions with the changes you asked for. Once you pick one, a team member here will send over a Wrap Sign-Off Sheet and you officially approve the mock-up so we can schedule your install
  4. Install and Awe
Lastly, you drop off your vehicle and we bring the design to life! When you pick it up we want you to be in awe of the difference it will make!

Benefits of Mobile Branding!

With so many people on the go, everyone is always looking for ways to make their company stand out. What better way than a moving billboard? Picture This knows your time is money, so we picked 3 of the top benefits of mobile branding!

  1. Exposure to a wide audience, but also YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE!
You are already driving your vehicle to and from job sites or all over the country on business trips. Why not also be advertising for your business? As an even better bonus, when you are on a job site, you are near your target audience and your exposure to them goes up too!
  2. . You start getting real exposure for your brand. We have clients here at Picture This that are small businesses, just starting up. The thing is, some of our other clients have made comments that they have seen the small business’s trucks EVERYWHERE they must have so many. When they only have ONE. This makes our clients look good and that is absolutely our goal!
  3. Wraps work all the time! Unlike traditional marketing: radio, television, billboards, magazines, etc.. Wraps work for years at a time for one relatively low cost, when compared to traditional marketing!

As we are sure you can guess, there are many more reasons we think wraps are a fantastic investment. And we should know, as one of only two 3M certified shops in Louisiana, we have gone through rigourous testing of not only our installation process, but our entire shop process from the second our client walks through the door.

From Small Start-ups to Colossal Conglomerates, a vehicle wrap is a perfect marketing tool! Give us a call or stop by Picture This to find out how a wrap could help your growing business, of ANY size!

Back Window Graphics!

This business owner uses the longest over-water bridge in the world to get to work EVERY day and with no billboards allowed on either side, he has a captive audience he has been ignoring for years that he can now enrapture with this back window graphic!

Even with billboards around, a back window graphic will turn heads! When vehicles are behind you the responsible thing for them to do is to pay attention to your vehicle and this form of advertising takes advantage of exactly that!

Add a little something extra to your office!

Most wraps you see from us are all about making your business stand out in an advertising capacity, this is about making your office stand out by adding a little something extra to your office!
The above picture is a wall wrap collage we recently did for the brand new Global Star office located in Covington, Louisiana. This client wanted to showcase some of the awesome places their technology has been able to help the avid outdoorsman!
If you have something you want to showcase in your office, give us a call and let us help you!

How Long Can I Expect My Wrap To Last?

This is the effect of a wrap sitting in the sun for 10+ years

One of the most common questions we get is, How long can I expect my wrap to last?
This question varies depending on several factors, but the short answer is, about 5 years.

The factors we usually mention are if the surface is vertical or horizontal.
Let’s say that they surface is vertical, that means that once a day the surface receives the full force of the sun, but if you have a horizontal surface, the sun spends a large amount of the day on this surface causing more damage to this surface than the vertical surfaces. This means that surfaces like the hood and roof usually last a little less time.

Another thing that can cause the wrap to falter sooner is less/compromised material, such as window perf. This material gives the appearance from the outside of the window of a solid piece of material, but in reality, you can see through from the inside with the small holes. This essential makes it that there is about half the material. This causes the material to wear sooner.

Another thing that can cause the wrap to age faster is not washing the wrap regularly. When the dirt gets baked on with the sun, it can damage the vinyl.

Even with the fact that the wrap technically won’t last forever, it is still an amazing advertising investment. With how effective the wrap will prove to be, you will want to take care of it and your new advertising investment!

Importance of Design

We all know that a striking design will bring your brand up a notch or two, but did you know that it is the most important aspect of your wrap?

A great installation cannot fix a non-functional design! If your design does not clearly show what your brand is, no matter how amazing the installation is, your wrap will not be effective. If you have a design that is too busy or is difficult to read, your target audience will be unable to understand your message making it incredibly ineffective.

Picture This employs a program that allows you as our client to have open communication with our entire team, including our in-house designer. We believe this will allow you to have the full benefit of the knowledge of our team to get you the best wrap for your target audience!

Reasons we love this design:
-Easily Identifiable Brand
-Even after a quick glance, you’ve seen the name and what they do
-Not too busy that it is distracting
-Takes advantage of captive audience space(back of van for traffic lights)
-Easy to read phone number

What is the right amount of coverage for my company?

This is one of our recent wraps that we think came out perfect for this client! This client wanted to make a huge impact and stay on budget. Once we talked to this client and got an idea of what they wanted on the wrap, we were able to suggest a coverage level and get started on a design for them. Once we started the design, the client had new ideas they wanted to see, so we were able to roll with those ideas and get the client to the perfect amount of coverage for them.

Something we like to stress is making sure that your brand is consistent. This includes keeping all of the vehicles in your fleet consistent. If your vehicles are all the same color, a partial wrap for all of them will look consistent and professional. However, we can always adjust if you have vehicles of different colors!

Come talk to us today about the coverage your company needs!

Simple, Yet Effective!

We know a vehicle wrap is an investment you take seriously and that you want to get your money’s worth. A lot of times this mentality can take clients down a path that will take away from the effectiveness of a wrap. Sometimes customers believe that adding a lot of text, a bold pattern, or just lots of information in general will give them more bang for the buck. Here at Picture This, we have found that simplicity is key to the most effective wrap! The key elements that you want in your wrap are your logo, your company’s name, your phone number, and to make sure that your audience can very quickly tell what you do.

The above wrap is an excellent example of this execution!

By avoiding adding a lot of text, your logo and the other essential elements of your wrap can be made bigger! Also, by keeping the background a solid color or a muted pattern, instead of a bold or rude pattern, you are better able to read the text your wrap does need.

We know that getting a wrap is an important investment for your business. Come in today and talk to an expert about getting the most effective wrap for your dollar!

Important Questions for your Vehicle Wrap Company

Choosing a wrap company that you can trust is the key to a lasting and beneficial business relationship. Team Picture This has put together a list of important questions for your vehicle wrap company and took the time to plug in our own answers so that you can make the most informed decision for your company.

What types of materials do you use?
We use mostly 3M vinyl and laminate. If the customer is looking for a color change and cannot find a color they like from 3M we can also get Avery Materials

Are you using vinyl specifically for use on vehicle wraps?
YES! All of our vinyl is graded for vehicle wraps in order to not damage the underlying paint!

Do you laminate your printed wraps and graphics?
Yes! Because we take pride in our work, we want it to last! By using a laminate, we are able to have our wraps out in the hot Louisiana sun much longer than if we did not.

What certifications and experience do you have?
We recently got 3M certified and are one of only 2 shops in Louisiana that holds that certification as well as one of only about 6 on the Gulf Coast with that distinction! Which means that we went through several rounds of rigorous testing on everything from our insurance to design to installation. On top of that, our main installer grew up doing vehicle wraps and graphics and has over 20 years of experience in the field.

What is the life expectancy of my wrap?
We like to recommend that you only keep your wrap on for about 5 years, however, you can get about 7 years out of your wrap, your removal just may be more expensive due to the challenges with the glue at that time.

How will my wrap affect my paint?
As long as your paint is in good condition when the wrap is installed(not peeling, no clear coat failure, etc.) Your wrap should actually protect your paint when the correct material is used. That is why it is so important that we use material MADE for vehicle wraps!

How can I keep my wrap looking new?
You want to make sure to keep your wrap clean. There are washes and polishes specifically made for wraps, however, we like to use dawn dish soap and a non-abrasive brush or washcloth. While it is not recommended because it can cause peeling or scratches, you can take your vehicle through a car wash-just don’t do it often!

Will there be bubbles, wrinkles, or other imperfections? Or will my vehicle wrap be “show quality”?
There may be bubbles at first but, they vinyl we use does allow the air to escape when heated up, like outside in the sun! If after a couple of days there are still bubbles, DO NOT try to fix it yourself. Please swing back by and one of our installers will address it with the correct tools. As far as other imperfections, there may be a couple around harder areas. If you are looking to have a “show quality” vehicle wrap, we can do that. However, due to the fact that it takes about twice the time and requires us to dismantle parts of the vehicle, the cost is usually about double or triple depending on the vehicle. We are happy to do this for you if you let us know ahead of time that you are looking for “Show Quality”

When my wrap is removed, will there be cuts on my vehicle?
To avoid cutting on your paint, we use knife-less tape, which allows us to cut from underneath the vinyl instead of on your paint!

What can I do to best prepare my vehicle for a wrap?
We recommend the vehicle is hand washed the day before with no wax or Armor All Spray, as that could negatively affect your install. If it is an issue to get the vehicle hand washed, we are happy to do it for you for an additional charge.

Why should I choose Picture This as my wrap company?
We hope it is obvious that we are the best company for you! But here are some of the highlights for you!

We are 3M certified
Our installer has over 20 years of experience
We have been around long enough to have removed some of our own wraps, which is important because our customers can tell you how the wrap held up for them and that the paint was safe!
We love our job! We are a team that loves what we do and that passion really helps us give you the best wrap possible!

If you have any other questions for us, please give us a call at 504-684-1114 and one of our friendly team members will be more than happy to help!
